The satirical universe of Robert Storm Petersen (1882-1949) is known especially from his series of drawings and text in newspapers such as Ekstra Bladet and the daily newspaper B.T., but he also drew many posters throughout his career. The figure Peter, a round and friendly-looking man with dotted butterfly and bowler hat, first appeared in B.T. in August 1922. Some months later the penguin Ping arrived, also well dressed and with bowler hat, and always ready with a fresh comment such as "It is pingeling" and "First Class". The humorous angle to everyday events made Peter and Ping to Storm P.'s most famous and popular comic book.
