From Naples to Rome

Salvator Rosa was an Italian painter and poet, born in Naples in 1615 and died in Rome in 1673. Rosa dropped out of his first education in Naples in favour of the arts, especially painting. He then received his first teaching from his brother-in-law, Francesco Francanzano, and was subsequently taught by two other painters. But Rosa did not learn from these, which is why he went out into the world among shepherds and fishermen to seek inspiration for his paintings. When he was in his 20s, he also travelled to the famous metropolis, Rome, to get noticed in the world of art. And he sure did succeed. Not long before Rosa gained attention due to his artistic ability – both in paintings and poems.

From dreams to reality

It is safe to say that Rosa achieved the attention he wanted. His works are exhibited in cities such as Florence and Rome, and can even be found here. Here you will find the beautiful posters with motifs of Rosa’s artwork. See, among other things, the poster “Studies for the death of Empedocles”, which was previously exhibited at The National Gallery of Denmark. All of Rosa’s posters can be purchased with or without a nice wooden frame, available in several varieties and colours. These varieties and colours are black wood, natural oak, dark oak and magnetic oak frame.
