Torben Skov
Torben Skov (b. 1947) is a Danish graphic artist and painter who is best known for the stamps he has designed for Post Danmark since 1990.
But Torben Skov is also a furniture designer and has also designed a large number of book covers and posters.
It with capital letters
The hallmark of Torben Skov's posters is a very conscious use of expressive typography.
The letters almost invade or make up the whole picture in themselves, and stand as coloured mastodonts on the poster's surface.
The style is simple and powerful geometric, and sends the thought towards the Bauhaus school's rigorous design.
Torben Skov also uses photographs and illustrations on his posters. Here, the style is still dominant, while the images stand as a commentary background.
